2009/10 was the season that Streatham Stanley FC really took off and stood up to be counted.
It started with some fairly basic changes from our first season which included the new designed badge aswell as the drill top most players purchased. Winning 3 out of 4 friendlies set the Stanley up for the season ahead, where they lost 1 and drew 2 league games winning the rest as they won the Southern Sunday Football League division 3 by 10 clear points.
A run that went all the way to the 5th round of the London FA County Cup meant we got to the last 16 of the many clubs around London who entered the competition, a great achievement.
Off course the superb Lucozade sponsorship that kitted us out in a fashionable new puma strip and also made us all addicted to their isotonic sports drinks as we had an endless supply! And how could we forget the finale to the season...
OLD TRAFFORD.
After winning the LSPL division 2 title the club were rewarded with a lifetime trip to Old Trafford to play a 90 minute game on the hallowed turf against division 1 winners Meltis Mexicans FC.
A season none of the squad will ever forget and hopefully the start of many more successful season's in the history of SSFC.
The thrills and spills of the Premier League are back and, to celebrate, we are giving away three volumes of Premier League Classic Matches on DVD!
